Subic Bay Orphan Children. For many years U.S. Navy ships would pull into Subic Bay near Olongapo City. Young navy servicemen would go into Olongapo City and find themselves a woman for the night. The navy servicemen would leave not knowing that they had fathered an Amerasian child. Many of these Amerasian orphans grew up on the streets of Olongapo City never having parents that cared for them. Subic Bay Children's Home and Subic Bay Baptist Church under the leadership of Missionary Teddy Fulfer need our help. They have taken homeless, abused children off the streets away from the evils of drugs and prostitution to provide food, clothing, and shelter.

The Pangarap Shelter is a residential and recovery centre for former street children. It is a transition place and an alternative to street life where children are gradually weaned away from the streets. The shelter gives them a variety of services in a minimally structured setting: physical and psychological space, time to adjust, detoxify and for decision-making. This is a re-introduction to some structure, responsibility and self discipline. Then the rehabilitation process formally begins with the help of our social workers, teacher, psychologist, house parents, the consultant child psychiatrist and the Brothers.

GH is a child and youth welfare agency meant to be on the front lines of rescue and rehabilitation of the medical, social and educational needs of at-risk children and youth, working towards improving human community life and family centered care. At present Gentle Hands has a staff of 30+ (paid & volunteer) and over 50 babies and children all in various stages of rehabilitation, legal paperwork, adoption, and reunification. GH is licensed and registered under the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Over the last 15 years Gentle Hands has been a ministry dedicated to helping the urban people of the Philippines. Over 5,000 babies have been born at Gentle Hands since it began. The medical outreaches have extended over several areas of the Philippines from the Northern Mountains to Smokey Mountain in downtown Manila.
